Giovedì 9 aprile, dopo soli pochi giorni dall’annuncio ufficiale della card di UFC 249, Dana White, presidente della UFC ha rivelato ai microfoni di ESPN che l’evento, è stato cancellato. A richiedere la cancellazione di UFC 249 sono stati i vertici ESPN e Disney. Oltre all’evento del 18 aprile sono stati rinviati anche tutti gli eventi successivi a tempo indeterminato.
